It's so much easier to handle the slippery ice, yellow snow, slush puddles and harsh winds of winter when you can come home, warm up, settle into a favorite chair, look out the window and enjoy yet another dramatic sunset in Harlem. So I'm a lucky guy. The title of the painting below is Last Light Harlem. I really love the contrast of the dark city skyline with the pink, purple and blue clouds.

Gary Conger Art Lovers Newsletter February 2015 - Valentine's Day Edition
Dear Art Lovers,
I hope that you're having a great new year and 2015 is treating you well.
Valentine's Day has arrived and with it celebrations of love and affection. Looking through my portfolio, I rediscovered these two paintings of the Kasha-Katuwe "tent rocks" near Santa Fe, New Mexico. I remembered that I had love on my mind when I painted them.
I am still amazed that Mother Nature was able to create in the same rock formation both the male and female shapes. And I'm still in love with the same person who hiked with me through those beautiful, mysterious tent rocks.

I hope that seeing them also warms you in this cold and slushy month. I'd love to hear what you think.
